I think I just found the most beautiful sentence in the midst of a very boring book:

"'Word and image' has become something of a hot topic in contemporary art history, largely because of what are often seen as invasions of the visual arts by literary theory.[...]
Not surprisingly, the border police are on the alert to protect the territory of art history from colonization by literary imperialism."
- W.J.T Mitchell, 'Word and Image', in Critical Terms for Art History-

'Literary imperialism'. Heee. ♥

...

Ok, did I just reach a new level of 'nerd'?

On the other hand, the fact that I actually noticed some irregularities in the pattern of my parquet while 'reading' the book just shows how boring some parts of it are.
Yes.

Re: synchronized book-reading (not transatlantic though, because I'm... uh... not trans the atlantic)
I-I think I just died. Killed by the cuteness this whole sentence was. *molests* ♥
Oh god, why hasn't science invented that yet? Together with teleportation and another fuckton of useful stuff? *flails*

Regarding the nerdiness: I'M SO GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE TO SEE THE BEAUTY OF THIS!
I was starting to get worried there...
